    The Red House
Although no longer red, this building was very much a part of Perth's colourful past. The Red House has the honour of being the first building constructed in 1816 when Perth became a military settlement. It had several functions, including meetinghouse, school, inn, church and tavern.

    Inge-Va House
Inge-Va House, built in 1823, began as the dwelling of the rector of the Perth Military Settlement. The house obtained notoriety in 1833, when its resident Robert Lyon, a law student, fell victim in the last dual fought in Canada. Inge-Va (meaning come here in Tamilian) was the name given to the residence by later owners. In 1974, the building was donated to the Ontario Heritage Foundation.
